There's nothing quite like a cello ensemble concert with this happy bunch! They deliver two performances each year, and I'm always thrilled by the incredible variety of the repertoire we find, perfectly suited for a cello ensemble. The students dedicate so much effort, and it truly pays off. This cherished tradition began with my teacher and mentor, Aldo Parisot, and the Yale Cellos, and I'm both delighted and proud to carry it forward with my students.
The NZSM Cellos already dazzled audiences with this program last week at St. Andrews, and this Friday, they'll be joined by students from Christchurch and Auckland, creating an even more lush cello sound. They'll be playing Vivaldi's Spring, Schubert's March Militaire, Dance of the Soma arranged by James Barallet, Elgar's Nimrod, and Blaze Dejardin's wacky New World Variations. Join us if you can—it's going to be amazing!

I could almost feel the joy and energy through this post about the NZSM Cellos. Their passion and teamwork remind me of how fulfilling it is when everyone contributes their best, much like when you try to do my accounting class assignments with focus and collaboration. The blend of classic and playful pieces sounds magical, and it’s clear how much heart goes into every performance such dedication always shines through.
